Week of January 4 - 8, 2010

N.B All students will be given a study guide for their midterm exams the week of January 18-22.  We will do some review next week, however, students are expected to spend some time in preparing for the exam.  Everything on the exam will be on the study guide.

Homework of this week:

US History I

For Wednesday - read 221-225 and do questions 1,2, and 3 on looseleaf.

For Thursday - read 228-232 and do 1,2,3, and 5 on looseleaf.

For Friday - Test on Chapter 6

For Tuesday - read pages 671-676 and do 1,2, and 3 on page 676 on looseleaf.

For Wednesday - read 677-681 and do 1 and 2 on page 681.

For Friday - 683-686 and do 1 and 2 on looseleaf.

For Monday 1/11 - read 688-691 and do 1 and 2 on looseleaf.

For Tuesday 1/12 - Test on Chapter 23.

Rest of week - review for exam.

US HISTORY I AND US HISTORY II CLASSES WILL HAVE THIER SCHEDULED TESTS THE NEXT TIME WE MEET EITHER ON THURSDAY OF THIS WEEK OR FRIDAY.  PLEASE REVIEW THE STUDY GUIDE FOR ASSISTANCE WITH THE TEST MATERIAL.

US History I

Students will work on Article 2 of the Constitution

No homework will be assigned this holiday weekend so that students may fully enjoy their time off from school.

Students will read and do work on the Spanish American War in class. 

No homework will be assigned this weekend so that students may fully enjoy their time off from school.

Week of November 16 - 20

US HISTORY I

For Wednesday homework - students are to review Article 1 of the Constitution in their text for Quiz on Thursday. 

For Friday homework - students are to complete the PREAMBLE worksheet given out on Wednesday (worth 10 points as a project grade).  Grade will be determined by completeness and appropriate choice of words.


US HISTORY II  - for Friday, quiz on the film Inherit the Wind.

Monday - students will read / take notes and discuss Chapter 5, Section 2 of text.  Students will view part of a video on the Constitutional Convention.

Homework for Wednesday - read section 3, pp. 172 - 175 and do questions 1,2, 3, and 4 on looseleaf.

Tuesday - class does not meet.

Wednesday - review homework and discuss on class Section 3.

Thursday - Quiz on Identify and Define words for this chapter found on pages 162, 169 and 175. 

Friday - studnets will take notes on the Constitution.

 

US HISTORY II WEEK OF NOVEMBER 9 -13

Monday - students will take notes and discuss Ch 20, Section 3 on Progressive Presidents.

HOMEWORK FOR TUESDAY - read section 4 (pp. 628 - 633) and answer 1, 2, and 5 on page 633 on loose leaf.

Wednesday - review homework and discuss in class.

Thursday - class does not meet.

Friday - in class chapter review for test next Tuesday.

Tuesday - in class we will read pages 138 - 145 and do worksheet on Guided Reading Activity 4 - 3 handed out in class.

 

Homework - on looseleaf write definitions for words in DEFINE and IDENTIFY on page 145. 

 

Wednesday - Tuesday Lab Schedule, period 1 does not meet.

 

Thursday - in class we will discuss the worksheets and definitions done for homework on the two previous days. 

 

Friday - in class students will read pages 147 - 152 and do worksheet 4 - 4 to be handed out in class.

Monday - students will take notes and discuss immigration. 

 

Tuesday - Students will begin to give their oral presentations on their website research.

 

Wednesday - Continue oral presentations.

 

Homework - read pages 582 - 587 and write definitions of KEY TERMS and answer 2. Reviewing Facts on page 587.  Should be done on loose leaf to be handed in.

 

Friday - written paper on website research will be collected.  10 point deduction if handed in on Monday. 

 

Students should be working on their HISTORY WEBSITE project.  Students were assigned a specific website for which they must a) write a 2 page paper and b) deliver a 2 -3 minute presentation discussing the significance of their site.  Students have worked on this project in class this past week.
