Week of March 29th Monday - Regular schedule of classes Tuesday - Stations of the Cross / Liturgy for Students Wednesday - No classes - Faculty / Staff Day of Reflection Enjoy the Easter Recess MARCH 1 All US I and US II students are expected to have their research paper "progress report" on Friday of this week, March 5th explaining what sources you have used and how far along you are with your paper. Students who do not have their paragraph in class at that time will be docked points off the project. NO EXCEPTIONS! Remember - your paper is due March 17th! N.B. the IDs and passwords for my classes on turnitin.com are as follows: US History I 3096-452 with password Abline1 (as in my name and the number one) US History II - 3096-454 and password Abline2 as in my last name and the number two. Week of February 22nd Parents - students in both US I and US II should be working on their research paper. All students have picked a topic and they should be engaged in research. The criteria for this paper has been given to all students. Parent Conferences are schedule for Thursday of this week. Please see the school website for times. Homework: U.S. History I Wednesday - Ch. 8, Section 1 and 2 take home quizzes. Students need to reach each section and answer the questions on the sheets provided. Late homework will have points deducted. Friday - Ch. 8 Section 3 and 4 take home quizzes. As above.
U.S. History II WEDNESDAY - Chapter 25 Section 1 and 2 take home quizzes. Students will be given quizzes based on the reading of each section. Students who do not turn in the homework on time will have points deducted for being late. FRIDYA - Chapter 25 Section 3 and 4 take home quizzes. As above. _________________________________________
Students should work on their History research project over the long 4 day week end coming up. Each student has a topic and has a deadline of Feb. 17th to hand in his / her thesis statement which is worth 50 points on this project. Further requirements will be put on Schoolnotes as their due dates get closer. Wednesday of next week is Ash Wednesday with an early dismissal.
Week of January 4 - 8, 2010 N.B All students will be given a study guide for their midterm exams the week of January 18-22. We will do some review next week, however, students are expected to spend some time in preparing for the exam. Everything on the exam will be on the study guide. Homework of this week: US History I For Wednesday - read 221-225 and do questions 1,2, and 3 on looseleaf. For Thursday - read 228-232 and do 1,2,3, and 5 on looseleaf. Week of November 23 - 27 US History I Students will work on Article 2 of the Constitution No homework will be assigned this holiday weekend so that students may fully enjoy their time off from school. Tuesday - Students will begin to give their oral presentations on their website research.
Wednesday - Continue oral presentations.
Homework - read pages 582 - 587 and write definitions of KEY TERMS and answer 2. Reviewing Facts on page 587. Should be done on loose leaf to be handed in.
Friday - written paper on website research will be collected. 10 point deduction if handed in on Monday.
Students should be working on their HISTORY WEBSITE project. Students were assigned a specific website for which they must a) write a 2 page paper and b) deliver a 2 -3 minute presentation discussing the significance of their site. Students have worked on this project in class this past week.
