Week of February 6 through February 10  

** When looking at Active Parent, I have labeled some grades as SVA.  This stands for subject verb agreement.  When we get to pronoun antecedent agreement, I will label grades as PAA.  I didn't want there to be any confusion!   

This week we will be:

1) Test on Roll of Thunder as soon as we finish chapter 6 this week.

2) Quiz today on SVA (announced last week).

3) Continue reading Roll of Thunder and begin our unit on pronoun antecedent agreement (PAA)-- Pronoun antecedent agreement follows the same rules as subject verb agreement, so much of this will be just reapplying what we have already learned in different ways.

Also, please be aware of my redo policy.  Several of my students are wanting to redo some of their assignments.  They are always welcome to redo any daily grade (other than a quiz) scored below a 75.  When they redo their assignment, they will receive a 75 in the gradebook in place of their old grade; however, they must bring their redo assignment to me to be checked first.  I will go over their mistakes with them, and then all the mistakes must be fixed for them to receive the redo credit.  There are several opportunities each week for this to be done in class.  And, as always, they can come before school for extra help in redoing their assignments if need be.

Also, parents please be aware that wearing ID's is mandatory.  It must be worn every day on their shirt collars.  We will be taking up ID's daily at the end of their last class and delivering them to their first period, so there is no excuse for not having them!
