Week of April 16 through April 20 

*If your child was on the band trip on 4/18/12, their score for the indefinite pronoun quiz is an X in ActiveParent because I did not want the 1 to affect their average for progress reports.

 

This week we will be:

1)  Finishing all activities with Hercules and taking a test  

2) Taking another test on our MCT2 study guide- This is something that they keep in their binders.  Their grades on their last test were not great, and the test questions came directly from the study guide.  They need to be studying and preparing for this next test on Friday.

3)  Reviewing and discussing the following skills: summarizing, using context clues, vocabulary with prefixes and suffixes, sentence structure, and using descriptive details.

4)  They will be updating their grading logs and receiving papers.

Also, please be aware of my redo policy.  Several of my students are wanting to redo some of their assignments.  They are always welcome to redo any daily grade (other than a quiz) scored below a 75.  When they redo their assignment, they will receive a 75 in the gradebook in place of their old grade; however, they must bring their redo assignment to me to be checked first.  I will go over their mistakes with them, and then all the mistakes must be fixed for them to receive the redo credit.  There are several opportunities each week for this to be done in class.  And, as always, they can come before school for extra help in redoing their assignments if need be.

Also, parents please be aware that wearing ID's is mandatory.  It must be worn every day on their shirt collars.  We will be taking up ID's daily at the end of their last class and delivering them to their first period, so there is no excuse for not having them!
