Unit 1- Photography Unit Question: What makes a good picture? Enduring Understanding- There are many ways to take a good picture. First you must have a goal and document the outcomes of the event or game. Always consider these 3 points: 1. Is the picture good photographically? 2. Does it tell a story? 3. Is it appropriate or legal? Taking photos from different perspectives also helps to produce good photographs. Remember the following photgraphic approaches: portrait, landscape, my generation, rule of thirds, leading lines and compositional motion, bird's eye view, worm's eye view, action shots, framing, implied lines, oblique view, repetition. Area of Interaction- Human Ingenuity Learner Profile Attribute-Principled and Risk-taker. Students will be taught to act with integrity, honesty, fairness, justice and respect when documenting students and staff through photographs. Yearbook students have an obligation to show all aspects of the school culture, not just the elite and popular. Students will also be risk-takers as they enter meetings, rehearsals, practices and classrooms to document school activities. Assessment Task: Create 3 photographs: 1. Portrait.2. My Generation. 3. Landscaspe Your first homework assignment is due Tuesday, November 24th. Be sure to turn in both your classroom contract and the course outline. Remember, homework is worth 15% of your overall grade. |
