Unit 4- Mixing Board
Guiding Question- What is the purpose of the mixing board? How do I operate the board prpoerly?
Enduring Understanding- The basic function of a sound mixer is to take 2 or more audio signals, mix them together and provide 1 or more output signals. There are several functions of the sound mixing board. These include Input Gain, Phantom Power, Auxiliary Channels, PFL, Pan, Channel Faders, Subgroups, Mute, and Channel Equalization.
Area of Interaction- Environment
MYP Asessment- Students will be assigned a specific function to perform (connect and run a wired mic, connect and run a wireless mic, connect and run the headset communications devices, connect and run the CD/Tape player, connect and check the stage monitors).
Learner Profile- Thinker
Students will exercise initiative in applying thinking skills crtically and creatively to recognize and approach the assigned sound mixing board function.
We will complete this unit on Weds. Nov. 12th. On Nov. 12th we will have our Unit Test. Be prepared!!!
