Music Technology Week of Feb. 8th-12th Unit 2-Rhythm Unit Question: What is rhythm and how is it used within a musical composition? Enduring Understanding: Rhythm is organized in several different ways. It is sectioned into beats with notes and rests having varying lengths and values. Note and rest values change according to the time signature. Rhythm can create excitement or induce feelings of calmness. Area of Interaction: Human Ingenuity Learner Profile: This unit contributes to student growth through the following learner profile attribute: Knowledgeable. Students will develop their curiosity as they add rhythm to their existing melody following specific guielines. Assessment Task: Students will successfully create and record a rhythmic accompaniment to go with their existing melody. Students will revisit their recorded melodies on the keyboard. Using the rhythm pattern section of the keyboard, students will select a rhythm pattern which uses at least 5 percussion instruments. Students will then rerecord their melodies with the rhythmic accompaniment. TURN IN YOUR INTRIMS ASAP!!! We will finish adding rhythm to your existing melody. We will also complete the rhythm worksheet packets which are being graded.
