Music Exploratory Week of Feb. 8th-12th
Unit 3- Tempo, Dynamics, Form Unit Question: What are tempo, dynamics, and form, and how are they used in a musical composition across different styles and cultures?? Enduring Understanding: Tempo is the speed of the music. Dynamics refers to the volume of the musc. Form is how the music is organized or put together. Tempo, dynamics, and form are considered expressive elements in music. They create a sense of emotion (calm or excitement). Area of Interaction: Human Ingenuity Learner Profile: This unit contributes to student growth through the following learner profile attribute: Reflective. Students will give thougfhtful consideration to their own learning and experience. Assessment Task: Compare and contrast the tempo, dynamic, and form usage of two pieces of music. Students must be able to interpret dynamic and tempo markings and the effect they create. Students must also be able to identify the form of ech piece of music. Students will reflect and evaluate. Remember to turn in your Unit 2 Rubric signed and your Interim signed ASAP. We will continue to discuss form and do fun listening activities.
