Just a little reminder about attendance issues. It is very important you either phone the office when your child is out of school for any reason or send a note when he/she returns. This will ensure that your child does not receive discipline penalties for having an uncleared or unexcused absence. Students have two days to clear an absence when they return or it becomes unexcused.
For your convenience, we have full-time voice mail available on the high school phone, which is 439-5532 ext. 242. Just leave your name, the students name, the date of the absence, the hours (such as all day or from morning until noon), and the reason.
When leaving early, students need to check out at the office. Students should come to school with a parent note to be turned in to the office. A dismissal pass will be given to the student so he/she can be excused at the proper time with minimal classroom disruption.
Bus notes for students to ride a different bus should also be sent with the student to give to the bus driver as students may use the office phone only for ill calls and serious emergency.
Thanks for your help in these matters. - Pamela Morris

The Superior Central National Honor Society inducted ten new members on Sunday. Congratulations to Seniors - Sarah McConkey, Evan VanBremen (honorary member): Juniors - Jordyn Barrows, Kyle Bugg, Sara Herndon, Samantha Hill, Brittany Maki, Taylor Maki and Sophomores - Brooke Bennett and Kaylynn Lindquist. We look forward to having their help with our paper recycling project which we operate each year. Our current members, Seniors Justin Chartier, Lindsey Coleman, David Flint, Sheena Richmond and Joe Waring and Juniors Natasha Cheyne, Samantha DeNeef and Kristy Howe have collected and recycled nearly 16,000 pounds of paper so far. Having the combined enthusiasm and energy of this group will create even more opportunities to serve next year. Great job and congratulations to all NHS members!
We have many successful activities here at Superior Central because of the dedication and efforts of a few individuals. These often go unnoticed and unrecognized because they routinely happen year after year and the expectation is that they will continue to happen because 'they should'. The Prom is one of these events and I would like to thank some students who made the 2009 Junior / Senior Prom a success this year. Erika Webber and Hannah Stebelton were the huge effort behind the decorations. Sam Hill, Jordyn Barrows, Bri Ruska, Amanda Steinhoff, Mariah Nelson, Amanda Butson and Taylor Maki put in hours helping to get things set up or taken down; Kristy Howe helped with the DJ and Jordyn Barrows tirelessly made phone calls to organize the door prizes and run errands. You did a terrific job!
