MITCHELL'S MADNESS
WHAT IS HAPPENING?
Second quarter has just begun. This is the quarter with the most interruptions of our time so it is an important quarter to keep an eye on how things may be going with your child. It is the quarter that encompasses the holidays and that can lead to both extremely high highs and terrible lows! Some of our students are not fortunate enough to be able to celebrate the holidays and that, too, can cause some dismay for our families. We (SEMS) are always accepting donations for those in need. But despite the holiday season, our health classes are focused on our normal curriulum as well as a couple special events for the holiday blitz!
Winter sports have also just begun. 8th grade basketball, wrestling and both 7th and 8th grade cheerleading squads have been chosen. 7th grade basketball is allt that remains for tryouts. They will be the first week of December. A physical and proof of insurance will be needed prior to that time. Our first basketball game and wrestling match are the 20th of November which is right around the corner - things are moving fast. If you have any questions please call me at 638-5561 ext. 102.
Booster club meets each Monday of the month. If you are the parent of an athlete we expect you to help at some point during the school year to assist in getting all the things accomplished for all our athletes. The next meeting is Monday, December 8.
