What’s Happening…

Welcome back to school. We are so glad to have the students back and ready to learn. 

In Language Arts the second graders will be reading the selections entitled: The Big Bushy Mustache, and Jamaica Louise James.

The strategies we will study in this unit includes predicting, inferring and problem solving. We will also be working on using context clues.

In Math we will conclude the unit on time. In addition to time, we will end the month with by conducting simple probability experiments. We continue to practice problem solving and double digit addition with regrouping.

In Science we will conclude the units on Matter and Sound.

Social Studies cultural traditions, and celebrating people of different nations will be concluding.

The Writing Workshop is taking a closer look at details. We will be making the simple 5 sentence paragraph longer by adding descriptive detail.
