Parents & Sharks ,

Hello Parents we have been super busy sorry if I haven't been in touch but students and school has been keeping us busy. This has been a great week . Students are staying a little healthlier and that makes for less make up work. Most of the students have great grades for the 9 weeks . I think you will be so proud of your son or daughter. I sure am. Students wrote poetry this week on the ocean and how humans interact with the environment. Students were given 3 chances if needed to bring their grade up to 100 and most of them did . They also printed some of those out and we have glued them on pretty paper for display. We had our big 9 weeks test on Thursday and students were given some chances to earn extra credit. One way was with bringing in contributions and the other way was with extra credit questions. Students are treated very fairly in case someone could not afford a contribution for our community service project they could answer the questions. I am so proud of our team but we have had a few problems with bounces due  to not bringing materials to class or gum. Students need to be reminded that gum is a school rule and they cannot get the work done if they don't bring the necessary materials to class.

Students can still buy a yearbook until Jan. 31st. their name will just not be free. Also businesses can still advertise and parents have until then to give me their 8th grade memory page. Please call me if you have any concerns I will be more than happy to discuss any of your concerns with you.  We want the same objectives your child's success!!!

Mrs. Towery has been out a couple of days due to the death of her grandfather. Students will still be earning Shark bites as we work through the holidays. Also we are all excited about our Thursday field trip to Old Salem. Also ask your student if they have brought their lab permission form back given out by the county. They can also turn in their permission form for the Whitewater Rafting Trip in April without the money to let us know their interest.

We have so much going on with Chemistry coming up this  new 9 weeks . But first we have student - led conferences on report card day , November 10th 2:45-5:30.
