Straight Forward Media offers 6 differentscholarships to a wide variety of students every year. Each of our scholarshipprograms is open to both American and international students, and we offerscholarships to attendees of four-year colleges, two-year and communitycolleges, vocational and technical schools.

WyzAnt CollegeScholarship

For2011-2012,our annual college scholarships feature $10,000 in total prize money!

Applicantswill be required to write an essay in English of no more than 300 wordsanswering the question: “What is the most important lesson you have learned inyour life?” The essay must be the sole original work of the Applicant and theremay be only one entry per Applicant.

Priorto April 1, 2012,all visitors to WyzAnt’s website will be able to vote onpreviously submitted essays. Only one vote per essay, per site user is allowed.At the conclusion of this period, the ten essays with the highest total numberof votes will be selected for a final round. In addition, ten essays will beselected by WyzAnt staff for the final round. WyzAnt’s decisions are at itssole discretion.

Priorto May 1, 2012,a second round of evaluation will take place during whichcurrent WyzAnt tutors will be allowed to vote on the twenty finalists.

Atthe conclusion of this period, the three Applicants whose essays have securedthe highest total votes will be awarded scholarships of $5,000, $3,000 and$2,000 respectively.

Young Women in PublicAffairs Award

TheYoung Women in Public Affairs (YWPA) Awards program recognizes young women fortheir demonstrated leadership skills and commitment to public service and civiccauses and encourages them to continue the participation in public andpolitical life.

Sincethe program’s inception Zonta has given 601 awards to 534 young women from 50countries.

Establishedin 1990 by Past International President Leneen Forde the Young Women in PublicAffairs Award honors young women of age 16 to 19,who demonstrate a commitmentto leadership in public policy government and volunteer organizations. Theprogram operates at the Zonta club district and international levels. Zontaclubs provide awards for club recipients and district and international awardsare funded by the Zonta International Foundation. District recipients receiveUS$1,000 and five international recipients are selected from the districtrecipients to receive awards of US$3,000 each.

Eligibility
Women of any nationality who are students of age 16-19,living or studying in aZonta district/region at the time of application and demonstrate evidence ofthe following are eligible to apply:

Myers Award for Outstanding Student Paper

This award isgiven annually for the best technical paper presented by a student. The papermust be based on work done by the lead author(s) while a student. The time ofthe work determines student status. The presentation of the technical papermust be made by the student at a major SAE meeting.
