FIRST GRADE NEWS!

OUR WEEKLY THEMES FOR NOVEMBER. Our themes this month are FALL & TREES, and THANKSGIVING TRADITIONS. We will continue to learn and put into practice our LIFESKILL WORDS and COMMUNITY GUIDELINES.

DAILY FOLDERS- Please have your child bring their "Home and Back" folder each day to school!

SPECIAL EVENTS-

BOOK-IT READING PROGRAM continues in November! Read eight books with your child and fill out the pizza slices record sheet.

Sight Word TURKEYS First Grade Contest- Help your child learn to read all of the sight words on the turkey cut out then return it to class to be checked. The class with the most completed turkeys wins! Our class was the winner for October Pumpkins!

Fire Safety Program- Monday, Nov.23rd at 9:00am.

GRANDPARENT'S DAY- Tuesday, Nov. 24th. Look for more information coming soon about this special day!

NO SCHOOL THANKSGIVING BREAK- November 25-27th.

FAMILY HOMEWORK- Your child has a special homework envelope to keep organized. Please read daily with your child in the reader that will be sent home each night and fill out the reading log. This is part of your child's weekly homework along with the worksheets in the envelope.
(Homework is always due back on Friday each week. Please do not return it until Friday and have it in the homework envelope!)
