FIRST GRADE NEWS!

OUR WEEKLY THEMES FOR SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER! Our themes these months are pETS, FARM ANIMALS, and FIVE SENSES! Our science unit this quarter is COMPARING and MEASURING. We will continue to learn and put into practice our LIFESKILL WORDS and COMMUNITY GUIDELINES.

DAILY FOLDERS & READING BOOKS- Please have your child bring their "Home and Back"  FISH folder and blue reader (in a zip lock bag) to schooleach day! Readers will NOT go home over the weekends. 

SPECIAL EVENTS-

PICTURE DAY- Friday, Sept. 24th! All pictures must be pre-paid. Please return the order form sent home this week with the money by the morning of the 24th.

INSECT PROGRAM- Thursday, Sept. 30th! A Master Gardener volunteer will speak to us about insect lifecycles and have examples for us to see.

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES- Monday, October. 18th & Tuesday, Oct.19th in the evening from 3:15-6:15pm. Look for sign up sheets to be sent home the week before to set up your conference time. I hope to meet with a parent for each student and go over your child's progress at this time.

NO SCHOOL- Thursday, October 21st through Monday, Oct. 25th for FALL BREAK!

END OF FIRST QUARTER- Last day of 1st Quarter is October 27th.
