WELCOME TO THE CEDAR HILL P.E. is for ME PAGE !!
Welcome back to a fun & fit year in Physical Education!
My goal at Cedar Hill School is to help students achieve age appropriate skills, and to maintain a lifestyle for wellness. Self-confidence, cooperation and dedication are part of the formula for success.
Please remember safety first! To be a good mover, you must come prepared! Sneakers are a must! Comfortable clothing and an easy-on/off sweatshirt is smart for these cool mornings and warm afternoons. Hats/visors may be worn during physical education.
G.Y.M. Day (Get Yourself Moving Day)has begun! Each Wed. & Fri. at 8:00 - 8:40 students can walk/jog/run laps before school. I will need either e-mail permission or a signed permission slip for students to participate. All school rules are in effect for this before school event.Presently about 60 students in grades 3 to 6 participate. We begin at 8:00 a.m. to stretch and walk/jog/run the 1/3 mile lap outside or walk and jumprope indoor on cold/wet days. Congratulations to Jeffrey Venter the first GYM Day member to reach 25 miles!
Grades 4 through 6 will be entering their pedometer step readings on www.peclogit.org and tracking their distance across the USA. There is also a Kids Quiz that they can enter once a day, and check up on their health and wellness knowledge, and maybe win a T-shirt! It's a cool site!
Grade 5 has the November Activity Calendar for their monthly homework assignment. It is due by Dec. 4th. Families can work together and have fun completing at least 3 activities per week.
Let's make Cedar Hill the healthiest kids in the state!
Stay Fun & Fit and you'll be just fine in 2009!
