Welcome to the new School year 2009-2009. My name is Mrs. C. Omotoso and I will be teaching 7th and 8th grade science this year. I have started given homeworks out to my Science classes. They need to turn it in at the appropriate day to have the full credit.
The 7th grade class will start with "Human Biology and Health" I am sure they will find it interesting.
The 8th graders will start with "Cells and Heredity" and that is another interesting science book too. However, they will not know that these books are interesting until they read them.
PARENTS: Please, assist by reading with our children in order to reiterate whatever the teacher (myself) is teaching them in class.

Now 7th and 8th graders use different books and so their homework will not be the same any more.

This week, we shall be learning about the structure of both plants and animal cell. Students will be making models of these cells in order to really understand it. They will also complete the chapter project in class.

We discussed the functions and structure of the skin. We also discussed ways to keep our skin healthy.

8th Grade
We are yet to complete the science benchmark exam, therefore we will do that this week.
We will continue to talk about cell in its environment and move on to Cell processes and Energy.

The week of 10/26-10/30/09
7th Grade Assignment
This week, we will be discussing the importance of food to the body. We will list and explain the nutrients in those food and their functions.
Finally, we will discuss digestion, that is how food is broken down into little pieces and how our body make use of the nutrients in food.

Homework
1. Bring in three nutritional facts, that is, find food boxes, cereal boxes, cans etc.and cut the nutritional facts on them and bring in next class. Also, read pages 44-45 of your textbook.

8TH Grade Assignment
We will continue with cell processes whereby we will discuss photosynthesis and respiration.

7th Grade

We will finish up with respiration and start with cell division. You want to know how your body grow and repair itself. BE THERE.
