Thursday: March 4, 2010:
NEW TO: Parents: Please be advised/notified that since we do not have "ISS" at Leesville Road Middle School this school year 2009/2010. We have given students lunch detentions and so far this appears to be NOT working, as the same students keep returning to lunch detentions. As another solution/resolve to a write up to Administration we as a team along with other "Track 3," Teams 7th and 8th grade, have come up with "Other Team Detentions," versus after-school or morning detentions, for students to serve. When we send a student to another Team, they will have all of their work for the day. They stay on that team for the day as a detention.
NEW: We will be working on chapter's 5 thru 10 for the next 20 to 25 days, some of the work will work on in class and some of the work will have to be completed at home as HOMEWORK! DUE: Students are only required to complete for Chapter's 5 thru 10: "Map-Zones, Close-Ups, and Case Studies", "The Chapter Review Assignments at the end of each chapter, and "The Standardized Test Practice," for these chapters this TIME!! I realize that these are Six (6) Chapters, that is why I'm NOT requiring all of the normal work that student have to complete for these chapters, I'm giving them a break!! NO Notes, NO Unjournaling assignments, NO Chapter Section Assessments!! THE TEST FOR CHAPTER 11: 3/4/2010 (THURSDAY) THE TEST FOR CHAPTER 14: 3/5/2010 (FRIDAY) Students and Parents: by Friday of this week Jan. 8, 2010, a letter will be coming home with your son/daughter about "The Homework Club," ( this will be for students who may need etxtra help with assignments/tutoring and or making up assignments) Mrs. Altom and Ms. Noonan will be the teachers, to stay for the Club,"Please Check the bus schedule to see below, if it would be feasible for your son or daughter to stay for the "Home Work Club or not and let us know by signing the letter and sending it back to us via your son/daughter's homeroom teacher as soon as possible!!

Parents and students, it was decided by Ms. Mallard, that students will receive the opportunity to go back and make corrections on ASSIGNMENTS ONLY (not on tests) to get a better grade!! However they must make the corrections to their work/assignment within a two-day time frame and give it back to Ms. Mallard for a better grade!!!
Every Chapter that we work on this school year these assignemts will be DUE: 1. "Chapter Notes." 2. Chapter "Section Assesstments." 3. "Standardized Test Practice." 4.Take the "Chapter Test" either Form "A" or Form "B" version. 5. "Close-Up", or "Map Zone" or "Case Study" assignments within the chapter. 6. Sometimes there may be "specific chapter hand-outs," to complete on the chapter. (that may become homework sometimes). Parents and Students: Please be sure to READ this entire "SCHOOL-NOTE PAGE" as some information may have changed!! PARENTS: PLEASE "TRY TO GET YOUR SON OR DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL ON TIME," THANK-YOU MS. MALLARD!! STUDENTS and PARENTS REMINDERS: NEW: PARENTS ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE A COMBINATION LOCK ON THEIR ASSIGNED LOCKERS HERE AT SCHOOL, AT ALL TIMES THEY ARE IN SCHOOL!!! NEW: All students should have by now receieved or have been assigned a GEOGRAPHY textbook, (for our tracking back in on November 9, 2009) however the textbooks must be returned, back to the team, everytime we track out!! STUDENT REMINDERS: STUDENTS PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING your TEXTBOOK to class every day, unless Ms. Mallard tell you/them not to bring it, and I will let you know in advance when NOT to bring the TEXTBOOK TO CLASS: If students continue to NOt bring Textbooks to class and are NOT Prepared for class the consequnce will be students will loose 2 points per date from their garde average in the class!! This should not continue to be a issue as all students have LOCKERS and TEXTBOOKS!!
