Our Spring Concert has been changed to Tuesday, May 11th, 6:30 at First Baptist Church in downtown Columbus. Dress for the performance is our formal black and white uniforms. This performance is the final exam for the year.
Our annual trip to 6-Flags will be May 15th. The bus will leave Midland at 8 a.m. and will return at 8:00 p.m. Wear cool clothes, with NO swim suit tops! Bring money for food and drinks. The purchase deadline for this trip was April 29th as published prior to this post. A special 'thank you' goes out to the students who volunteered for the performances at "Columbus United for Haiti" on South Commons and for the PTA at Barnes and Nobel. I was proud of your performances! (Lunch at Mellow Mushroom was nice too!) Also, a big THANK YOU to our booster officers for such dedicated service to the chorus this year. Mr. Pybus has been instrumental in keeping music in the hands of our students, and in paying for buses and substitute teachers when the district failed to do so in order for the choirs to perform for Assessments and community events. We have been able to provide ''business as normal' at a time when other programs have suffered dramatic financial cuts. Your fundraising efforts have made this possible and we thank you wholeheartedly. Students please remember to bring a folder and pencil to class with you each day! One of our former students, Desiree Figarora is now attending Ga. State University and was chosen to participate in a project containing positive messages for youth. Please check out Desiree's work at this website: www.highschooljamz.com
