Welcome to

Badaczewski’s Bulletin

I know I don’t usually update midweek…but I think I had Super Bowl fever on Sunday…there were several things I forgot…YIKES!!!

1.     STMM will be having a Book Fair next week.  Students came home today with their flyer showing books that can be purchased. (There will be many more books at the fair)  Something new this Book Fair…  books can be purchased online so you and your child can shop at your convenience.  Book will be shipped here to the school and be ready for pick up next week.  All information is on the flyer.  Our time to shop at the Book Fair is Tuesday, February 14th at 1:30.  If you are unable to shop with your child, there will be several parent volunteers will be there to help your child with his/her purchases.

2.    Hearts will be sold at lunch this week (1 heart for $1, 5 hearts for $3) to benefit children in need.  These hearts will be posted on the cafeteria walls with a personalized message.  Money collected will be matched by Scholastic who will in turn donate books to organizations in need.  Just one way we will show our 101 ways of kindness. **

3.    A pink paper will be coming home tomorrow.  This paper is for the Student Council Valentine’s Heart Sale.  Valentine hearts can be purchased for 50 cents apiece.  These hearts (along with a personalized message you can write) will be delivered on Valentine’s Day.  On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of next week, each heart your child receives will be able to be traded for a “healthy heart” snack.  You are able to send these hearts to your child or your child can send these to a friend in our school.  ( When my daughter, Jamie,  attended St. Mags, our dog, Lucky, sent her one every year, J)**

4.    I am still in need of a few cereal boxes.  Please send these in tomorrow.

5.    I need 1 parent volunteer for Friday’s 100 Day festivities and 2 parent volunteers for Monday’s 101 Day festivities.  We will start around 8:30 and be done by 10:00. If you would be able to help for either of these days, please send me an email.

6.    I did mention our Valentine party will be on Tuesday, February 14th.  We will have a small treat and open Valentines.  I am looking for volunteers to send in cupcakes, juice boxes, pretzels, plates, and napkins for this event.  I do not need parent volunteers to come in on this day.

I think that is about all....if you are able to help out in anyway or if you have questions, please email me.

**These items can also be found on the e-envelope.

Have a wonderful “rest of the week.”

I’m trying to get my Schoolnotes up early today….it’s a big night for football.. whether it is for the commercials or for the game…either way, it is enjoyable to watch.  However, it would have been a little more enjoyable had a certain black and gold team been in there…but we won’t go there…I’m still in shock about the last play for the season in overtime, anyway here is what we have planned for this week.

Language Arts:

·        Letter H

·        -op word family

·        Popcorn word – eight

·        Sorting beginning, middle, and ending phonemes

Math:

·        Identify coins - penny, nickel, dime, quarter

·        Coin values – penny, nickel, dime, quarter

·        Numbers to 100

Religion

·        Forgiveness is good

·        The story of Zacchaeus

Friday, February 10th is the 100th Day of School.  ( I know, if you are keeping track, we are a little off)  A yellow letter went home on Friday with all the details.  I am in need of Fruit Loops (or the Giant Brand “Fruit Swirls”) for a special project on that day.  If you could send in a box, I would appreciate it.

Monday, February 13th is the 101st Day of School.  Please try to dress your child in a white shirt and light colored pants or a black shirt and black pants.  Day 101 is going to be a “Dog-gone” great day…sorry….had to say that!!

Our Valentine party will be on Tuesday, February 14th.  We will have a small treat and exchange Valentines.  I am asking for cereal boxes to make Valentine card holders.  If you could send in one (or more) I would appreciate it.  Students can start sending in Valentines on Thursday.

If you have any questions about any of these days, please feel free to email me.

That is about all I have.

 Happy Super Bowl Sunday!!!!

Go Giants!!!

God Bless,

Angela B.
