We will continue to introduce new material, however we will not test on it after this week. We will need to close grades at the end of this week in order to get all of the grades posted and report cards run in time for the last day of school. Religion: This week we will be learning about the Liturgy of the Eucharist. We will be talking about the consecration and and the meaning of the Eucharistic Prayer. We will have a test on chapter 20 on Thursday. This will be our last Religion test of the school year. Language Arts: Today we introduced lesson 24. The story for this lesson is "Watching in the Wild" and it is a nonfiction selection. The focus skills for this lesson include using graphic aids, synonyms, contractions, forms of the verb -be, comparing and contrasting, and the return of the Bossy "R" in words spelled -air and -are. We will work on this lesson this week and next, however we will not test on this lesson. Math: This week in Math we will continue to learn about measurement. We will continue to work with the units inches, feet, and yards. This week we will introduce units of capacity as we measure with cups, pints, quarts, gallons, ounces, and pounds. Also this week we will take our final Act 89 Math Assessment for the school year. This is an achievement that measures overall progress of specific skills. Science and Social Studies: Most of our Flat Friends have returned. Those that have returned have completed their Memory Boards. We will be hanging them in the hallways this week. If you get a chance stop down and take a peek. Also this week in connection with our Language Arts story we will be researching animals of the wild.
