Dear Patriots,
Welcome to Southeast Middle School, whether you are new to SEMS or returning for the next school year.
I hope that you have had an enjoyable and productive summer and are returning with a renewed energy and enthusiasm for the 2009-2010 academic year.
I want to extend a special greeting to our 6th grade class and to the new students transitioning into SEMS. The transition to Southeast Middle School is a big step and a very big change, both for students and parents. Most students feel excited and a little apprehensive as they start middle school. During this transition period, it is very important to keep the lines of communication open.

Do not hesitate to call the school if you have any questions. Parents, in addition to supporting your child, support and work with the administrators, teachers and counselors at SEMS. Like you, we want your child to have a great middle school experience.
I want to encourage you not only to take a vested interest in your child’s education but also to join our PTA and Booster Club’s. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Our next PTA meeting will be at 7:00 pm September 17th. The next Booster club meeting is September 14th at 6:30.
The opening of school has gone very smooth and I would like to thank you for attending our Open House and getting your child ready for a new year.
With your help we anticipate a very successful 2009-2010 school year.
