First Grade Notes
January 5, 2009
Homework~
Monday
Spelling ~ Write a short sentence for each spelling word. The words for the week~ far, farm, arm, art, part, park, chin, such, fly, watch, New Year, winter
Tuesday
Complete the math sheet. Students must cut and glue the pies in the correct row on the graph. Then they must answer the questions. This may require some parent assistance.
Wednesday
Religion ~ Please color the Epiphany picture and then practice praying the Morning Offering written at the bottom of the page.
Thursday
Cut out and complete the spelling word sort. Then, fill in the answers to the chart. Keep the word sort cards at home to use for review and practice for Friday’s spelling test!
Notes ~
~ We hope that you had a joyful Christmas! We wish you many blessings in the coming year.
~ This week, we are moving into our chapter on graphing in mathematics. Please keep your child adding, subtracting, and making fact families for you.
~If your child completed their optional winter break review packet, please feel free to send it in and share all of their hard work!
~Now that it is winter, please remember to bundle up each day and to label all jackets, hats, gloves, etc. Thank you!
~ With the end of the second quarter quickly approaching, if you had any concerns about your child’s interim report and you would like to set up a conference, please email me to let me know your concern and your availability for meeting. Thank you!
Friday Helpers needed!
An email will be coming home this week in order to set up Friday Helper volunteers for the remainder of the school year. Friday Helpers come in on Fridays to help with sorting paperwork and putting together homework folders each week. If you are interested in volunteering and you have certain Fridays that work best for you, please email me those dates. Thank you for all of your help and support!
