First Grade Notes

 Homework~

***Please make sure your NAME is on EVERY page!!***

Spelling ~

The words for the week ~ find, mind, mild, cold, fold, most, soon, new, boy, building, them, any

 

This week, on the night before your presentation, your homework is to practice your report! 

 

On the other days, your homework is to study the spelling words for Friday’s test and complete a 15-minute timed writing.

 

Suggested topics ~ What do you want to visit at the zoo?, What excites you about the summer?, “How to take care of your pet,”

 

 

Notes  ~

~Zoo Field Trip: I would love to have two more chaperones, so if you are still interested in chaperoning for our May 26th Zoo Trip and you are Virtus-trained and have turned in paperwork for a background check, please let me know by this Wednesday, May 20th.

~ Thank you so much to everyone who has signed up to help with the First Holy Communion reception for the 2nd grade!

~ Reminder ~ The First grade classes traditionally honor Our Blessed Mother in May with fresh flowers at her statue in the front lobby. Please refer to the schedule from last week to find the week your child is scheduled to bring flowers.  We only need you to bring in a few flowers – something simple from your garden will do.  For Mon., May 18th – Kelvin, Anna, Louis, Matthew

~ You are invited to attend the Zoo Report Oral Presentations throughout this week – see the schedule for details.

Your children worked very hard all last week on writing their zoo animal Research Report.  Now, you are invited to come and see your child’s presentation!
