A very special "THANK YOU" to everyone who helped make this such a great year! We couldn't have done it without YOU! Early Release or Emergency Relocation: For emergency relocation, students at the Athens Campus will be transported to our FCA Madison/East Limestone Campus located at 13902 Bradford Road, Madison, AL 35756. (This address is in Limestone County.) Directions: From US Highway 72 East, turn South onto Bradford Road, which is the road in front of Butler Home Furnishings. The school is about a mile down on the left. It is VERY IMPORTANT to remember that your child(ren) will not be released to anyone who is not listed on the pick-up sheet filed in the office. Since you will not be able to call the school during a crisis, be sure you have all of your authorized pick-up persons on file now to avoid problems later. For more information, click the link found at the bottom of this page. Meeting Minutes October 18, 2010 - 3:15pm and 6:00pm To allow for better participation, it has been decided that on the days scheduled for PTF meetings, there will be one held at 3:15pm and another one at 6:00pm. Free childcare will be available for each meeting. ---------------------------------------------------------- September 20, 2010 - 6:00pm Primary discussions revolved around the upcoming Harvest Festival. Each year, Ms. Tonya Edmundson lead the effort for the festival but this year, since she and her family are no longer at our school, the PTF is responsible for coordinating the event. We discussed the many needs and how we could get participation from parents to man the booths/games. We also discussed the making and selling of the chicken stew. Childcare was made available at no cost for those parents who attended the meeting. The meeting adjourned at 7:15pm. ---------------------------------------------------------- August 16, 2010 - 3:15 pm President Gwen Kyle called meeting to order and Vice-President Tressy Hart led the word of prayer. Meeting began with each person introducing themselves. First item on the agenda was the goal for the year. Suggestions were made to buy another projector for the teachers, a trophy case for the gym, or cord/converter boxes for those teachers having a TV already in their room to enable them to use the school laptops for presentations. Next was a brief discussion about the “Boxtops for Education” program and the competition for October. There will be an ice cream sundae party for the two classes that have the highest average of turn-ins, one for K4 - 6th and one for 7th – 12th. The next item on the agenda was trying to start a can recycling program once a month. Becky Constable will check on recycling requirements, if any, and then we will devise a method to advertise and collect the aluminum during either morning or afternoon car line. Nancy Green will have the room parents assigned within the next two weeks. Also, it was decided to start each year's directory from scratch so that each year the parents can decide whether or not to participate and/or purchase the directory. The PTF will be in charge of the Harvest Festival this year. A committee of four will be leading the fundraiser with one person in charge of each section; homeroom baskets, games, food and other concessions, and chicken stew. Jennifer Stoner and Becky Constable will begin work now on the baskets and other donations for the school. A 'brain-storming' meeting will be held in the next week or so to finalize some of the activities that will be available during the festival. Meeting adjourned at 4:10 and free childcare was made available during the meeting time for those parents who attended. | ||||||||||||||||
