What We Are Learning

Math- We have just finished our unit on Addition and Estimating Sums! I am super proud of all of my students!  Keep practicing with them at home.

 Remember :

5 or more raise the score

4 or less give it a rest!

We will be starting on Subtracting and Estimating Differences for the next two weeks.  Please practice subtraction facts with your child nightly.  This will help with their success in subtraction.

Science-
We have been working hard with our Soil unit. Students know what a compost pile is and why it is important.  They should also know the layers and types of soil.

*We are still in need of soil from different states!  We have soil from 25 different states.  We are still in need of samples from the western and mid western states.

Writing-We are working on Focus and Organization Skills.

Nightly Homework:

Math homework varies nightly. Most days there will be a sheet or a math page to complete.

Students write down homework everyday before we leave in the afternoon and are reminded to take home the appropriate materials to complete the work.
