1. Goto the link below for the "Rules and Procedures
Quiz. Login and take the Quiz.

2. Open a new Word document and save it into the Madi
folder for your period on Classroom Share, with
your name as the title.

3. Click on the SCILINKS link below. Login as a
guest. Enter the code hsm1341. Go to the site
"Lab Safety Rules".

4. Copy and paste 5 rules of your choice into your
word document.

5. For each rule that you copied, predict what could
happen to you if you do not follow it in the lab

1. Open a new Word document and save it into the Madi
folder for your period with your name as the title.

2. Type your answers to the following questions in
the document:
A. Do you have a computer at home that you can
use for school work? If you do, does it have
internet access?
If you don't, do you have access to one (ex.
if you have a library card, you may use
computers at the library).

Skip the next questions if you do not have a
computer at home.
B. Do you have Microsoft Word on your computer
and do you know how to use it?
C. Do you have Powerpoint on your computer and
do you know how to use it?

4. If you have an email address, click on the link
below to "Mrs. Madi's Website". Register for the
"Class Email List" for you Period.

5. Click on the link to the B.E.E.P. Student Portal.
Click on "Science" under "Online Textbooks Grades
6-8". Click on the link to your textbook under
Middle School
Period 1 "Florida Holt Science Grade 8"
Periods 2,3,4,5 "Florida Science and
Technology 2006 Blue"

6. Complete the following practice for your period:
Period 1
a. Use the "Table of Contents" button to go to
Chapter 1. Practice navigating through the
chapter using the Page and Section arrows.
b. Explore the information found at
classzone.com.

Periods 2, 3, 4 and 5
a. Use the pull down menus to open Chapter1,
Section4 "Safety in Science".
b. Practice using the the "Audio" (open it,
and choose your preferred language)
c. Click on the "Book Pages" tab to return to
text and follow along with the audio.
