12/13  Verb Test 12/22.  If you are planning to begin winter break early, you will need to take the test before you leave.  The end of the semester is 12/22; therefore, my grades need to be completed at this time.

Narratives are due 12/15.  After the 15th, it will be considered late.  A grade of NHI (0) will be entered into the grade book until it is turned in.  Again, the end of the semester is 12/22.  If it is not turned in by then, the zero will stand.  Students have three ways to complete their final drafts: 1.  Come in early and type 2. Type during homeroom 3. Stay after school on Wednesday until 5pm.

Please remember that major writing assignments are not to be completed at home because it is a test grade.  Having it completed here at school is my only guarantee that I am grading the students' work.  Thank you for your understanding.

12/9: Main Verb/Helping Verb worksheet side 25 only!

12/7: I will be available after school Wednesday for students to work on their narratives until 5 pm.  Students will need to be picked up at 5 pm or ride the sweep bus to one of the pick up locations.

Progress Reports sent home today, 11/23.  Signed envelopes are due back on Monday, 11/29.

November 15- December 7th

Students will be working on a narrative writing piece that will be completed at school.  During this time, there will be limited amounts of homework, if any.  Strongly encourage your student to come in early to work on his or her narrative if he or she is falling behind; the narrative is due on December 3rd at the end of class.  If it is not completed by that date, students will need to come in early or stay after school to complete it.  I will not accept any writing that is completed at home.  This is a test grade and having it completed  at school is my only way to gurantee that I am actually grading the students' work.

Since this is a rather extensive piece of writing, please allow a few weeks for me enter the final grade.  I plan to have each narrative graded before winter break.

On December 9th, I will begin teaching the verb unit.

November 8th- 12th
