Mighty Mustangs!

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT CELL PHONES USED IN SCHOOL WILL BE TAKEN!  PLEASE DON'T CALL YOUR CHILD'S CELL PHONE DURING THE SCHOOL DAY.  ALSO REMEMBER THAT IPODS, AND OTHER ELECTICAL DEVICES OUT DURING THE SCHOOL DAY WILL BE TAKEN.

   Leaf thanksgivine  November News:

 

  English II:

This week we will focus on WordSkills, and Ancient Rome.  Students will be getting information to do a projecct on Rome.  The project will be due 10/20/09.


Standard Course of Study Goals for the week include:

1.02 Students will explain how culture affects personal responses.

1.03 Students will demonstrate the ability to read, listen to, and view complex print.

2.01 Students will analyze connections or relationships between ideas.

4.05 Students will identify and analyze elements of critical environment found in text.

5.01 Students will use effective strategies for the  story.

5.03 Students will identifying and evaluating the impact of story elements and organization on the text.



English III:  Wednesday the first 2 pages on the senior paper is due.

This week we will be working on wordskills, The Canterbury Tales, and their senior paper.

This weeks Standard Course of Study Goals:

1.02 Students will reflect and respond to text.

1.03 Students will analyze the author's style.

2.02 Students will examine and explain how culture influences language.

3.01 Students will respond respectfully to view points and biases.

4.01 Students will evaluate the historical & social influences of the Romantic Period.

4.02 Students will read themes from different time periods.

5.01 Students will evaluate historical significance of works from the Romantic Era.

 

 Any school or craft supplies will be greatly appreciated! All students need to have the chance to be successful.

 

 Progress Reports go home Tuesday, September 29.  Please sign and return the report.

 

Parents: Our class could use old magazines, and other items listed on the class wish list. (ask your student)
