STANDARDS: M8G1: Students will understand and apply the properties of parallel and perpendicular lines and understand the meaning of congruence. a. Investigate characteristics of parallel and perpendicular lines both algebraically and geometrically. b. Apply properties of angle pairs formed by parallel lines cut by a transversal. c. Understand the properties of the ratio of segments of parallel lines cut by one or more transversals. d. Understand the meaning of congruence: that all corresponding angles are congruent and all corresponding sides are congruent. ---------------------------------------------------------------- WEEKLY HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS MON: "How Did the Judge find Out About the Rotten Milk?" THURS: Worktext pg. 196 FRI: none ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GEORGIA STUDIES ***Please be aware of the Study Guide given every Monday. It usually contains 4-5 points students are to research and describe in detail (at least 100 words each). These are due each Friday. We have one or two days we go to the computer lab for typing, but any typing that can be done at home will be appreciated. We are now studying the effects and changes in Georgia as a result of the Revolutionary War and the Constitution. STANDARDS: SS8H4: The students will describe the impact of events that led to the ratification of the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights. SS8H5: The student will explain significant factors that affected the development of Georgia as part of the growth of the United States between 1789 and 1840. HOMEWORK: I normally do not give homework in Georgia Studies. However, students are encouraged to read the current chapter at home. Current Assignments: The current study guide is a two-week assignment and is due on Thursday, Dec. 2 |
