Hello! I will post little blurbs and updates about Miss Julia Reese here. :)

Students~I miss y'all already....but am TOTALLY loving my new baby girl, Julia Reese.  Guess I was right that she would come early, huh?

Julia Reese was born on Tuesday, 12/2/09 at 6:00 AM on the nose!  She weighed 5 pounds and 15 ounces and was 18.75 inches long! She has light brown hair and blue eyes. She is just perfect and beautiful!

I am still at the hospital...and will most likely be heading home tomorrow or Sunday.  I am not able to have visitors b/c of the H1N1 virus scare.  The only people allowed to visit are my husband, and my parents.  So, as you can probably imagine, I am pretty bored.

Well, I will update soon!  :)

XoXo,

Mrs. Torrell :)

12/5/09

We left the hospital and arrived home at 10:30 PM for our very first night at home.  It was a little scary. I was really nervous and did not know what I was doing. I was trying to make everything perfect and do everything like I had read about.

First night home was not tooooo bad. Julia Reese only had one major cry spell...a big one...HUGE ONE....but only one! :) Bottle at 2:30 and then not a peep until 7:30! :) Going to take a nap now.... I was a nervous wreck all night. Could not stop checking on her...could not sleep too much...too nervous and excited. :)

Julia Reese is one week old today! :) I can't believe she is already that old. I wish you all could see her. She is so cute and precious...I can't stop staring at her in pure disbelief that she is so perfect! :)

We have been home with Julia Reese for 5 nights now. She is a really good baby.  I am getting used to waking up a couple of times in the night to feed her.  She usually eats around 11 each night before Jimmy and I head to bed and then she will wake up around 2:30 or 3 in the morning and eat again and will be good until around 6 or 7 where she will eat again. :)

As much as I love to sleep, I don't mind waking up at all to be with sweet little Julia Reese.  :)

Julia Reese rarely cries! She only gets fussy when she is hungry or has a dirty diaper...which is to be expected.  She started sucking on her hands the other day...so we do not give her a pacifier at all.

Several of you have emailed to ask how to get a gift to me...well...if you give them to Ms. Logan, she will be coming for a visit as soon as she gets rid of her cold. :)  Please be sure to include your mailing address with any gift you send, as I want to be sure you receive a thank you note. :)

I miss y'all and hope you are continuing to do well in math and science.  :) Perhaps one day I can get up there for a visit before my return in March.

XoXo,

Mrs. Torrell

Hi! Sorry about the LONG delay in updating! Julia Reese takes up ALL my time! I am amazed at how much she has grown ALREADY! She is already eating 4 times at much as she was before and her little body is really filling out fast!

I have been having a hard time trying to find the right bottle for Julia Reese.  Do you know how many different kinds of bottles are out there? Whew!! :)  Jimmy thinks we now own 3 of each different kind.  :)

Now that school is out for a nice long break, I hope you are able to relax and enjoy some time with your family and friends.  Happy Holidays to you and your family!

Mrs. Torrell :)

OOPS! Okay...motherhood keeps you WAY busier than I thought.  I had this WONDERFUL idea to keep everyone updated about Julia Reese and me....but LIFE got in the way! :)

Well...Julia Reese is 14 weeks old now! I cannot believe it! I took her to the dr. yesterday and she already weighs 13 pounds (well...one ounce less than 13 pounds). She is 22 inches long! She has grown sooooo much since she was born! I will have to go shopping for more clothes soon...as she keeps growing out of everything!!

Starting back to work was REALLY difficult for me.  Dropping Julia Reese off at the babysitter's house is so hard every morning.  I am so used to being with her every second of every day.  I guess it will take a little while to get used to it though.  I just have to make the most of the time I DO get to spend with her each evening.

Being a mommy is so special and I am loving every minute of it! :)

Hello!!! :) I hope you are having a wonderful summer! I have been busy taking care of Julia Reese. She is already 6 months old...can you believe that?! I can't! I took her swimming for the first time last weekend. She LOVED the water. I got her a really cool raft that has a cover over the top...she liked that okay...but LOVED it when I held her.

She is just about to start crawling! She gets up on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth right now. She thinks she is really getting somewhere! It is really funny!

She LOVES to eat! She is still eating baby food only...she does not have any teeth! But she LOVES anything you feed her! She really shocked me tonight when she grabbed my glass of water from me and she put it to her mouth....she actually took a few sips from it! Jimmy and I were in total shock! :) Of course...I think she is SOOOOO gifted! :)

What have you been up to? I miss you! My school email is still working....so shoot me an email and let me know how you are doing! torrell@fultonschools.org

Stay safe and stay cool!!!

Mrs. Torrell

Hey!!! :) It's been a LONGGGG  time! I hope you are all enjoying 7th grade and are doing well! :) I miss y'all and I miss teaching...but I LOVE being at home with little miss!!! :)

SOOOOO many things have happened since I last wrote! Let's see...the main things are this:

She turned one on December 2 and 2 days before her birthday...she started WALKING! :)

She stopped eating baby food and loves to eat: green beans, apples, pickled beets, sausage, chicken nuggets, Chick-Fil-A milkshakes (especially the peppermint chocolate chip flavor), french fries, cheese, plain Cheerios, Fruit Loops, Goldfish, and yogurt.

She love to laugh and loves to play with her baby dolls! She sleeps with her little purple teddy bear blankie thingie every night...we named him P.B. (stands for Purple Bear...I know...creative...right?;) )

She can say Mama, Dada (although she has only said dada a handful of times), Mimi (what both of her grandparents are called), hi, hey, eat, baby, and occasionally byebye.

She loves dancing and also colored for the first time Friday night while out to dinner at a Mexican restaurant. :)

I am staying so busy with her. Actually, I am much busier now than I EVER was while I was teaching...strange...I actually thought this whole "stay at home mom thing" was gonna be easy! :) A lot of work...but TOTALLY worth it! :)

She knows sign language for a few things like: milk, eat, and hat.  She takes a gymnastics type class one day a week and take a swim class one day a week.  I tried taking her to the public library for story time once...but she did not like it very much...it was too quiet in there for her! :) Guess she takes after her mommy! :) lol

I would love to stay in touch with y'all! Perhaps I can sneak on up to the Webb for a visit sometime soon!!! :)

XOXOXO

Mrs. Torrell :)

Hi! :) So...Happy LATE Valentine's Day! I hope you had a great one! I cooked Jambalaya for Jimmy and J-R got a new baby doll stroller and a stuffed animal dog..with a cupcake dog house! :)

I am sooo excited the weather is getting a bit warmer...I took J-R to the park for the first time in FOREVER yesterday! As you can imagine...the park was packed!

Sunday we went to the zoo! This is J-R's second trip to the zoo. She loves the panda bears (like mommy) and thinks the otters are funny! I have really been having so much fun with her over the last year!  Watching her grow and learn is so much fun and so very rewarding!

Hope to see y'all soon!

xoxo
