DECEMBER 2009

Well, we are finally "up and running" on the NewSchoolnotes page!

December is an exciting month in kindergarten, as we celebrate the Advent season and prepare for Christmas. On our recent fieldtrip we saw the "Nutcracker" and a visited "Byers Choice" where we  enjoyed their fabulous Christmas displays.

In December our focus is on the Advent season and the birthday of Jesus. We are counting down the days till Christmas with the help of our Advent calendar and learning 24 names Jesus was referred to in the Bible.

Our Prayer Partners came for a visit to read Christmas stories to us and to help us write a letter to Santa. Now we are anxiously waiting for a reply!

In Language Arts we are learning letters D, I, and L and their sounds. We are always looking forward to Friday visits from the "3rd Grade Letter Person"!

In math we are learning about plane shapes, symmetry, and simple fractions. We are also reviewing patterns and graphs.

We wish all our readers a blessed Advent season, a joyous Christmas and a very happy and healthy New Year.
