FINAL EXAM = Wednesday, May 23 Week of May 14 For Tuesday, May 15: Work on Final Exam Review Sheet, posted below. AND, be sure to complete the Scholastic Scope for the May 14 Issue (also posted below). Week of May 7 We will continue Macbeth this week. Bring your book to class! Act I-III QUIZ is on Wednesday! See attachment below for Acts I-III Questions. Extra credit is available in the attachment below. DUE FRIDAY, MAY 11. FOR TUESDAY, MAY 8: Complete the assignment attached below, called "Macbeth in Pictures". EMAIL your completed assignment to me no later than the end of the class period. If you are done early, you can work on your extra credit responses. Week of April 30 All Sunrise projects are due by Monday, April 30. That is the FINAL deadline. We will begin Macbeth this week. Bring your book to class! We completed the reading of Acts I and II in class. You should read Act III on your own, and be ready to discuss on Friday. Week of April 23 Last Sunrise Quiz - Friday April 27 on Sets 5 and 6 Questions. FINAL TEST GRADEfor Sunrise: Select ONE of the following projects, due Friday, April 27: 1. Write an essay comparing YOURSELF with either Birdy, Jonesy or Marla. Consider comparisons between your home lives, your experiences, and yourfeelings about war/peace/conflict. 2. Prepare a PPT presentation about the United States' War in Iraq, orOperation Iraqi Freedom. Include a timeline of the events of the war,examples of soldiers' and civilians' experiences, and the current status of theUS occupation in Iraq. 3. Write a continuation of the story from Birdy's perspective. Considerwhat life might be like for him when he returns home, including his feelings,relationships and future plans. Week of April 16 Read up to pg. 282 in Sunrise (end of book) and answer Set 6 questions. Due April 17. Week of April 2 Make sure you have completed your letter to a soldier. You must make the edits from your first draft and submit the final letter for full credit. Week of March 26 Welcome to the 4th marking period!! Quiz Monday March 26: Sunrise Over Fallujah Question Sets 1-4 FOR TUESDAY, MARCH 27: Read Sunrise up to pg. 207 and answer Set 5 questions, posted in the "Sunrise Over Fallujah Questions" attachment below. FOR FRIDAY, MARCH 30: Make sure you have read Sunrise up to pg. 248. Then, draft a letter to a soldier. You should type your letter in Word, and email the draft to me by the end of the period. Next week, we will mail the letters to "A Million Thanks", an organization that distributes letters to service men and women. Here are some tips for writing your letter: 1. Address the letter to "Dear Soldier," if you are writing to an unknown serviceman, and allow the distribution center to locate a soldier who hasn't received mail. 3. Include your email address, if you would like the soldier to respond.
