News and Information for the Week of November 2, 2009 Dear Parents, Last week was a busy week. I enjoyed meeting with all of you at conferences. The children had a great Halloween party. Thank you again to our class mothers for making the party a success. It is hard to believe that we are beginning the month of November! In religion, we will be learning that Jesus taught that all people are our neighbors. Our story in reading is "Splash." We will be learning about the sound of short e. This week our spelling words are: shed, hen, wet, red, then, pet, away, good, into, and put. In grammar, we will be learning about irregular plural nouns. In math we will continue to subtract numbers. In science, we will compare and contrast animals. In social studies, we will learn about Mary Mcleod Bethune, a citizen hero. Tuesday is Burger King Day. On Thursday, we will be taking school pictures. The children are to wear their school uniforms. Please remember to send in the envelope marked with your choice of package, and your payment on Thursday. Friday is a 12PM dismissal, due to a Faculty Meeting. It is also Bagel Day. Reminder-Tomorrow we will be taking school pictures. Homework-November 5th Spelling-Test Math-Do pages 35-38. Parents-We will be attending 9AM Mass tomorrow. You are welcome to join us! Reminder-We have a 12PM dismissal tomorrow. November 6, 2009 Dear Parents, Please sign and return the yellow folder.
