US History 1R Orange US History 1R Green All Sections: Week of February 6 Chapter 11 Civil War Notes Monday-Discussion of life after slavery and 13th Amendment hw: Imagine you are a newly freed slave and want to change your name. What kind of name would you choose and why? What kinds of names did newly freed slaves choose & why? Tuesday: African Americans in the Reconstruction Era/13th Amendment Students will learn about & categorize areas of improvement for African Americans after the 13th Amendment. hw: Scripture 1 Pink Scripture 1 Blue All Sections: Chapter 10 Students will learn, define and list characteristics & situations that influence biographers vs. Gospel authors. Students will reflect upon the way the Gospel authors wrote each of the Gospels. Current Events Spring Week of February 6, 2012 Celebrating African American History Month Monday - Students will choose a current 21st century African American leader and/or activist. Each student will write one page, double spaced "bio" on chosen American. Tuesday: Students will write a letter to same African American leader with questions and remarks on their accomplishments.
