Any student taking the test must achieve a grade of 80 or higher in order to pass the exam. Week of 11/15: Worksheet 1 and GDL laws. Seat belt laws. Car registration, inspection and insurance. Quiz on GDL laws. Group activity on signs, signals, and pavement markings. Week of 11/22: Presentations on Signs, Signals and Pavement markings. Sign activity sheet. Maps and Signs test. Week of 11/29: How we communicate with other drivers. Highway vs. City driving worksheet. Begin discussing the differences between highway and city driving. Test 1. Week of 12/6: Finish the differences between highway and city driving. Quiz. Sharing the road with other users. Week of 12/13: Defensive driving worksheet. Discuss defensive driving techniques. Discuss what affects stopping distances. Test 2. Week of 12/20: Driving privileges and penalties. The point system. Driver Emergencies. Quiz. Week of 12/20: Drinking,Drugs, and Driving. NJ statutes. Guest Speaker. Quiz on NJ statutes . Week of 1/3: Review for exam. Practice test. Take state exam. All students will have access to the on-line driver education course. There are excellent websites that provide information for both students and parents on this site.
