The theme of the week is Valentines but we will also be celebrating the One Hundredth Day of school on Friday.  The children's projects may come into school Wed., Thurs., or Friday.

In reading we will begin a new theme--Communities.  In this next unit, we will be working on the consonants Hh, Dd, and Rr and using them with short vowels already covered to build many decodable words.  The comprehension skill to be focused on this week is finding the main idea. This week we will expand on this with supporting details to the main idea.

We will be building and reading words using the new consonant letters Rr and Dd.

In math, we will return to building larger numbers by using sets of ten and ones.

Last week the children learned about St Blaise when Deacon Dan visited and blessed throats.  This week they will hear about St. Valentine.  Then we will be talking about Jesus as a child.
