WRMS Honor Code
A strong sense of personal honor and integrity is a basic human responsibility and one of the most vital assets a person can have throughout life. Thus, we believe that the best academic environment is one that holds personal integrity and honesty in highest regard. Endorsing the character traits of honesty and responsibility, we expect all students to uphold the following code:
Academic integrity requires that students take credit only for ideas and efforts that are their own. Cheating and dishonesty violate this code and defeat the purpose of learning. Academic dishonesty includes but is not limited to:
1. Giving, receiving, or attempting to give or receive unauthorized help that could result in an unfair advantage in completing school work.
2. Taking, stealing, and/or using an assignment from someone else and representing it as ones own.
3. Looking at anothers test, essay, or other work, with or without consent for the purpose of duplicating that work and submitting it as ones own.
4. Representing as ones own the work or words of a parent, sibling, or anyone else (this includes copying someone elses homework).
5. Use of any crib notes on your person, written on the desk or other object , programmed within graphing calculators, or other devices without teacher approval.
6. Stealing/copying someone elses work , writing your name on it, and submitting it as your own.
Every student should report infractions of this Honor Code to a teacher or administrator as they become aware of them.

As a West Rowan Middle School student, I will be trustworthy, honorable, and respectful at all times. I will not participate in lying, cheating, or stealing and will not tolerate those actions in others. Furthermore, I will report any infractions of the honor code to a teacher or administrator.
