I want to congratulate the kids on all the great music that was made by the St. Barnabas students. I thought that the Christmas shows were excellent! I am looking forward to working out the rough spots and improving the show for next year. Great Job Kids!! We have been very busy in class, learning songs for shows, mass and fun. Also, most of the students have been learning to identify, by sight, different instruments that are commonly used in today's music. Now we will be learning to identify those instruments with auditory recognition. The students will be able to distinguish between these instruments through listening. I have a few activities planned to accomplish this. At the end of these lessons there will be a short quiz consisting of 15 main stream instruments for grades 1-5 and 30 for grades 6-8. These lessons are both fun and important for the kids. Along with that, we will be learning more songs and preparing for spring shows that will be here before we know it. Think Spring!
