Modern United States History The history of the United States is a fascinating and complex story. Our discussions will encompass many aspects of the discovery, development, and continued growth of the nation. We will investigate political, social, and economic changes in our history. Our discussions begin with the early humans of the world, continue through the colonial period of the United States, and on as far into the future as we can by the end of the yera. We will discuss such topics as the Civil War, the Industrial Revolution beginnng in the 1880s, and the revolutionary changes at the turn of the century. We will examine Urbanization, Immigration, the Progressive Era, Imperialism, World War I, the Great Depression, World War II, the Cold War, Vietnam, the Civil Rights Era, and the role of the United States in the modern world.
