Modern United States History

The history of the United States is a fascinating and complex story. Our discussions will encompass many aspects of the discovery, development, and continued growth of the nation. We will investigate political, social, and economic changes in our history. Our discussions begin with the Industrial Revolution beginnng in the 1880s. From there we will cover topics including, but not limited to, Urbanization, Immigration, the Progressive Era, Imperialism, World War I, the Great Depression, World War II, the Cold War, Vietnam, the Civil Rights Era, and the role of the United States in the modern world.

World History

Early civilizations, Egypt, Greece, Rome, Religions of the world, and the people who populated the world in ancient times will be the focus of the class. We will begin our discussions with early man; where he lived, how he lived, and how the civilizations spread to encompass the globe. We will talk about art, literature, politics, economics, science, and the social history of early civilizations. We will explore how those discoveries and advancements impact modern life. The class will cover the globe to make connections between man's past and present.
