PARENTS:

Things are going very well! Just a note on homework. In the future, even if I assign more than 8 terms to be defined; we will never do more than 8 in one night. So the students have been instructed to do no more than 8, and then slide the rest until the next night until they are complete. Please allow me to clarify the homework policy. Homework should never take more than 15 or 20 minutes a night in science unless there is a test or they are finishing a project. The workbook assignments are for a two week or longer period, so are to be done a little bit a night. Definitions should never be more than 8 per night, and they should be kept short. If more than 8 are assigned, they are to do only 8, and let the others slip until the next night, (even if more than 8 were assigned).

*******************************************************

Just a reminder that there will be several 'hands on' projects this year which will require some effort, but very little money. They will, however count heavily academically; about 40% grade-wise. More information will be forthconing as the times approach. The creativeness and capability of your student will be evident even with the cheapest of materials.

*******************************************************

Please note that I am serious about visiting. I really enjoy parents visiting the class at any time; just drop by the office and obtain a temporary pass.

THIS OVERVIEW IS ALWAYS TENTATIVE; IT CAN, AND USUALLY DOES CHANGE, DEPENDING ON CIRCUMSTANCES. There are many exciting things going on in our classes and occasionally it takes longer to complete a task.

I will keep you up to date on this site. Please be on the look-out for work book assignments. This will get them into the books and give them a chance for an easy extra grade since they will always be open-book at home.

Projects, homework, and even classwork will be updated every Friday for the week coming up on this site. We are moving at a fast pace and will continue to do so.
