Please check this page regularly to find daily homework assignments, dates for tests and quizzes, project assignments, vocabulary words and other important dates and events for the 2009-2010 School year.




Your child will need the following materials:

  • Two 100 page composition books
  • One pack of post it notes
  • Three one gallon Ziploc bags
  • Pens, pencils, colored pencils and markers

Students have homework every night.  They are to read for 30 minutes and write a summary. I provide reading logs with summary blocks, but students may use self-made reading logs if they prefer.  Reading logs are due EVERY Friday.  Students are to submit completed reading logs and obtain a new reading log.

This is a standing assignment; however, other assignments may be given in combination with this assignment.

Homework--October 14

1) Writing exercise:

Talk with someone outside of class--parent, older brother or sister, etc., about time when they faced the unknown and were unsure about what to do.  Students are to write the response in the space provided on the worksheet.

2) Grammar exercise on the back of the writing exercise.

3) Read for 30 minutes and write a summary.

  • Create a travel brochure.  Illustrate and advertise the "world/place" in the book you are reading.  The brochure should be creative and enticing.  The goal is to make the brochure interesting so that someone would want to visit this "world/place.

This assignment is due on 10-29-09 and will be counted as an assessment grade.  I will not accept this assignment after 10-29-09

Reading Logs are also due on 10-29-09.
