We are learning the difference between mean, mode, median, and range as well as how an outlier changes them.  We will then be taking data sets and displaying them in stem-and-leaf and box-and-whisker plots.

6A & 6B

We just finished reading "Earthquake!" and my sixth graders can tell you all kinds of exciting things about this force of nature.  We have now begun our lesson on Hurricane Katrina.  We are learning how this type of natural disaster compares to others, as well as how it changes people's lives.

7A & 7B

We are still in our unit on Immigration.  We have learned how about immigration has changed throughout United States history.  We are now doing independent research projects on subtopics of immigration and will display our findings in four kinds of graphs.
