Hello!!     

We are off to a great start--2010-2011 is going to be an awesome school year! It is half way over, and we are still having a great time!!!

***Please make sure to check back every few weeks for new information and homework assignments.***

Class Schedule:

• 8:00-8:40- SRA Phonics (will be working in small groups)
• 8:40-9:10- Self-Selected Reading (students will be reading and discussing books that they have read on their instructional level)
• 9:10-9:40- Specials ( Monday- Computer Lab; Tuesday- Music; Wednesday- Art; Thursday- P.E.; Friday- Media Center or Guidance )
• 9:40-10:25- Teacher Directed Reading (students will be working as a whole class)
• 10:25-10:55- Recess (Thursdays- Second Steps Program)
• 10:55-11:25-Accelerated Math (students will be working on math objectives at their own pace for mastery)
• 11:25-12:10- Teacher Directed Math (students will be working as a whole class)
• 12:10-12:45- Lunch
• 12:45-1:30- Writer's Workshop
• 1:30-2:00- SRA Phonics (students will be working in the same small groups as in the morning session) 
• 2:00-2:20- Science or Social Studies
• 2:20-2:30- Read Aloud
• 2:30- Dismiss

Important Dates to remember:

Feb. 8th: 2nd Quarter report cards to go home

          Homework Folders go home every Monday and are due back, with all work completed and left in the folder, on Friday mornings.  The following are the items due each week for homework:

Reading:  Read 15 minutes daily

Spelling:  Write spelling words 3 times each and                                            in ABC order.

Math:  Take home page(s) from math series (all  papers in the front pocket of the folder)

Writing:  Choose 5 spelling words to write 5 sentence (one spelling word in each sentence)

 ***Please make sure to check your child's agenda everyday for important information and sign on each date!***

**Students must be in complete uniform each school day... complete uniforms include a belt.  Also, with cooler weather, please be aware that they can only wear plain, NO hood, sweatshirts while in the school building.**

Weekly Words:

The students will write their words of the week into their agenda each Monday.
