February 1 - 5, 2010

We had a great beginning this week to the third quarter.  We did start addition regrouping in math and everyone is doing well.  Let's keep this momentum going and we'll be ready to soar over the mountain tops.

--We are having another "Box Top" competition.  Please send in any Box Tops you have saved for us.  Last time our class came in second.  Let's win the whole thing this time!
--Your new AR levels and goals were sent home on Wednesday.  Go ahead and start reading so you won't have to rush at the end. 
--Remember to sign and return your child's assignment pad each night.
-- Children will have an assignment each night.  The assignments will be in math, spelling , and math facts.
--Thank you for all the items you donated to our classroom.  We feel truly blessed to have such generous parents this year.

Weekly Homework

Monday: 
write your spelling words 2 times each;  write  your math facts 2 times each; bring back library books
Tuesday:
put your words in ABC order ;choose 4 of your math facts and use them to write a math story; work on Math Stars
Wednesday:
Choose 6 spelling words and use them to write a telling or asking sentence; drill your math facts for 15 minutes your parents need to write a note telling us you did this
Thursday:
 Study for your tests; math stars due tomorrow
