Mrs. Hogge's Class
2nd Grade
 

The weather sure has felt like winter!  The snow has been beautiful and fun to play in.  As we return to school, we will work hard to get back into the swing of things and continue to prepare for third grade.  Report cards will come home this week.  Please look at any areas in which your child may be struggling and help your child work on those skills at home.  We will be focusing a lot on writing this month as we prepare for the county writing test in March.
In reading we will be learning about biographies.  We will be reading biographies and writing biographies.  This is a really fun unit and one I can't wait to share with students.
In math we are continuing to learn addition and subtraction strategies when working with one and two digit numbers.  Please continue to help your child memorize the math facts each week.  This will help in so many ways when doing math problems.
We are continuing our unit on animal habitats in science.  This week we will complete making a penguin trading card.  Make sure you ask your child about this project.
