Here’s the Buzz!
We started our next unit in reading. It is called “Colors All Around.” We have been reviewing the color words and talking about Fall. We learned which colors are primary colors. We used colored icing so the children could mix the primary colors and see what secondary color they made. Finally, we used the icing on some Scooby-Doo snacks and enjoyed a little snack! Ask your child about our color lesson. We have also been making sentences using the word “I”. When we make sentences we know that we have to end the sentence with a period, exclamation mark or a question mark.
In Math we are learning about shapes. We talked about circles, squares, triangles, rectangles, trapezoids, and hexagons. We are using the words: same size, matching parts, and same shape.
In Science we are learning about spiders. We are making a book which we will finish next week.
