Welcome to Hauss & Torrence's
Busy Bees' Website!

  Here’s the Buzz!
We started our week talking about our country, our flag, and our country’s symbols.  We made a book about America and learned what it means to be a citizen.
On Tuesday we started a study about our teeth.  We talked about the many ways we can take care of our teeth and how important it is to brush twice a day.  Your child has a new toothbrush and a small tube of toothpaste in his/her book bag.
In Writing we wrote stories about what the tooth fairy does with all the teeth he/she collects!  Many of our students wrote 5 to 7 sentences.  Way to go!
In Math we started a new topic on Graphing.  We have learned how to take a survey and then use the data to make a graph.

Things to practice

Numbers: 11 - 20
Words: eleven - twenty

Important Dates
March 2 - Dr. Seuss’ birthday  If you child has a shirt with “anything” Dr. Seuss on it have him/her wear it on Tuesday.  Also, this will be a “Crazy Sock Day.”  Look for a note in your child’s folder about this on Mon.
March 4 - Kindergarten writing test
March 12 - Deadline to turn in pledge money for Spell-a-thon.
March 17 - Early release day,  St. Patrick’s Day, Spirit Day - wear green
March 18 - Skate Night 6:30 - 8:30

Spell-a-thon
We had 14 out of 22 students make 100 on their spell-a-thon test.  This is good but we should have had more.  These are words your child must recognize and spell before he/she can go to first grade.

Please continue to send in box tops!
