       I would like to wish all of my students and their families a Happy Thanksgiving!  There will be no homework this week so that you can help your families to prepare for the holiday and enjoy some much needed and well deserved rest. 

       Students in level two have been learning clothing vocabulary so parents can help them extend their learning at home by asking them to describe the clothes they are wearing in Spanish and/or identify clothing/shopping words in Spanish as you are out shopping. 

       Level II Honors classes have been doing a great job working with the CACTC preschool students.  We've been teaching them the colors in Spanish and our next endeavor is to teach them to sing Feliz Navidad for their Holiday Show.  We've also been learning about "mail" terminology so ask your student to identify the information on an envelope, in Spanish, after you've brought in the day's mail.

       In level III students have just begun a unit on famous Hispanic artists.  Ask your child to discuss what we've been talking about in class.  Do they have a favorite artist or style?  After Thanksgiving we will be starting a project, which is also a RI Common Task, which will require students to select an artist and actually become him/her.  They will have to write a journal entry from the artist's perspective.  Be on the lookout for project due dates as it will be broken down into steps including research, outline, rough draft, and final copy.
