Mrs. Pilkington has been nominated to the Cullman Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year. She will be appearing before a panel of judges next week.
The Teacher of the Year award will be announced at a luncheon at the Alsteak Resturant. The ceremony will be attended by teachers and principals from Cullman's City and County schools as well as community and business leaders.
Thanks to all those who have written letters to support this nomination. Mrs. Pilkington has earned it by her hard work ethic, deidication and love for teaching.
She has gone above and beyond by iniating several new programs(example--Science Fair--Robotics Competition), obtained several grants, coached and served as athletic director. Kyla volunteered through the summers working on handbooks, policy and procedures and attending Space Camp on a scholarship provided by NASA.
Mrs. Pilkington is often found working after hours preparing for her classes. Kyla has a deep love for her students, her fellow teachers and her beloved CCS. She displays a school spirit and loyalty that is second to none. Her peers, parents and students all love her in return.
