9:00 - 10:00    Envision Math

Calendar Math - We determine the correct date for each day.  Review the numbers 0-20, flashcards (fluently adding and subtracting within 5), count days of school, practice counting by ones and tens to 100. We will review the names of coins and their values. (penny, nickel, dime, & quarter). We will practice reading and spelling the number words 0-10.

Common Core and DOK:

K.G2 Correctly name shapes regardless of their orientations or overall size. (DOK 1)

K.G3 Identify shapes as three dimentional (solid). (DOK 1)

K.G4 Analyze and compare two and three dimentional shapes in different sizes and orientations using informal language to describe their similarities, differences, parts and other attributes. (DOK 2)  

K.G5 Model shapes in the world by building shapes from components and drawing shapes.(DOK 1)

K.OA.5 Fluently subtract within 5.(DOK 1)

The promethean board is used daily in math.

10:40 - 11:30 Phonics - letter card deck, sight word card deck daily

Letter: Informative/Explanatory Texts

Phonics Reader: Eight is the Best Number (Please read nightly, initial back of book, and return to school daily.)

Common Core and DOK:  

K.RF.3c (Phonics and Word Recognition) Read common high frequency words by sight (e.g. the, of, to, you, she, my, is, are, do, does). * (words taught to date)

K.RF.4 (Fluency) Read emergent-reader texts with purpose and understanding.

K.W.2 (Concluded) Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose information/explanatory texts in which they name what they are writing about and supply some information about the topic. (DOK 2)

K.W.6 With guidance and support from adults, explore a variety of digital tools to produce and publish writing, including in collaboration with peers. (DOK 2)

A flipchart (promethean board) is used daily in phonics.  It is a teacher prepared flipchart that coordinates with the daily lesson.

11:30 - 12:00 LUNCH

12:00 - 12:15 Bathroom/water

12:15 - 1:30 CENTERS - Rainforest

Drug Awareness:  RAT - Smoking can make you sick

1:30 - 1:40 Bathroom/water

1:40 - 2:30 - Quiet time

2:30 - 2:40 pack-up, review, dismiss

****COME TO SCHOOL**** We are having school-wide attendance reward days for students that have perfect attendance each week. Rewards are given out on Friday mornings.

***If anyone cleans out a toy chest, and has items that we could put in our class treasure chest, it would be greatly appreciated.
