MRS. GRABER'S THIRD GRADE  CLASS

Math:
This week we are beginning Topic 7 which focuses on Division Strategies. We will learn about division as sharing, finding remainders, and division as repeated subtraction. We will also review and test on Friday. Please make sure your child is studying their Multiplication facts. Each night your child should have a practice page that goes with the lesson we did at school that day. Please make sure they complete the page each night.

Science:
In Science, we are studying soils. We have created a compost pile and are observing the changes. We also will be doing a project on soil animals. Each week we are practicing the Reading or Math UNRAAVEL using the lesson in the science book.

Writing:
This week in writing we will begin writing imaginative stories. We will read imaginative stories to find the characteristics and brainstorm ideas for our stories. We will be writing a story about one day I woke up and I was 100 years old. Ask your child to share their ideas with you. These should be great stories!
