Yearbook

The cost of the yearbook is part of the eighth grade graduation fee and every eighth grader will receive a copy. However, parents may purchase an extra copy to keep for themselves. As a parent I knew that my son would lose/misplace his copy, so I ordered 2 extra copies of the yearbook:One copy was for myself and I saved the other for my son. Needless to say, when he was older and looking to share those yearbooks, which of course he couldn't find, I was able to give him back those memories with the copy I had saved for him.

Any child who fails 1 class will not be allowed to attend the class trip. However, the child must attend school that day.

Any child who fails 2 classes is not allowed to attend the trip or the dance. Again they must be in school on the day of both events.

Choosing the right HS

Seventh Grade Parents- Now is a good time to check out the high schools you and your child are considering applying to. Here are a few things that might prove useful in your search.

1. Use public transportation to get to the school. Knowing how long the ride is might help you decide. Remember, your child will be making this ride in the winter months when the sun comes up later and sets earlier.

2. Check out the neighborhood where the school is located.

3. Don't be afraid to speak to people and storekeepers in the neighborhood where the school is located. They can prove to be valuable sources of information about the school. However, verify information as much as possible since some people may not be objective about a school.

4. Check out the school's website. Is what the school offers compatible with your child's interests?

5. Public or Catholic High School?

Catholic School

These are also available in some dollar stores.

Your child will need these items for editing his/her writing.
