Welcome to the Wonderful World of Kindergarten K-3

                                 Week of November 2nd - 6th

          Thank you to everyone who helped to make our class Halloween Breakfast so special. I am very appreciative for all the helping hands. You would think Halloween will be a hard act to follow, but with so many fun things going on this week I think the children will have a wonderful week...

          On Monday I will introduce "Benny Bear" as the children learn the consonant sound for the letter Bb. Our Reading/ILA theme continues to be "We're a Family". The children will hear more stories about families. They will also hear the fairy tale Goldilocks and the Three Bears. On Thursday we will have a Whole Language Day with the theme: "Bears". The children will have a chance to taste "porridge", have a teddy bear Show'n Tell, learn about real vs. make believe bears, and have some beary fun Math and ILA activities... In Religion this week I will introduce Chapter 6: "Talking to God is Good". The children will know that God loves them and wants them to talk to Him... In Math the children will begin Chapter 3:"Positions". They will learn concepts of above, below, inside, outside, top, middle, and bottom, etc...During the month of November our Social Studies theme will be a combination of Family/Thanksgiving...This week on Tuesday we will celebrate Election Day. The children will use a pretend voting booth and vote to select their favorite fruit. The children will also get a chance to taste the fruits. Oh the fun we do have each week in the wonderful world of Kindergarten!

Monday: We meet Benny Bear!

Homework: Practice book page 86.

Tuesday: Music is today. We celebrate Election Day today!

Homework: Practice book page 84.

Wednesday: Art is today.

Homework: Practice book page 91. Return Library books by tomorrow. Please bring in a stuffed bear or favorite stuffed animal for Show 'n Tell tomorrow.

Thursday: Library and Computer classes are today. Whole Language Day today.

Homework: Math pages 35 and 36 (due on Monday, 11/9).

Friday: No School for students. Parent/Teacher Conferences are today.
